Fresh from the latest Media Production & Technology Show (MPTS) 2026, our specialist Entertainment and Media team spent two exciting days connecting with industry peers and exploring the trends shaping the future of broadcast, media and production.
With professionals from across the sector coming together, the event provided a valuable opportunity to step back from the day-to-day and focus on how production is evolving, and what that means for the role we play in supporting our clients.
A more complex production landscape
One of the clearest themes from MPTS was the growing complexity of production models.
We are seeing a continued move away from centralised production, with hybrid shoots, multiple locations and more distributed teams becoming standard. While this opens up greater flexibility, it also creates new challenges around coordination, planning and consistency.
This shift places greater importance on having the right support in place, particularly when it comes to managing travel across multiple locations and timelines.
Cost pressures driving smarter decisions
Another consistent theme was the level of cost pressure across the industry.
Productions are being asked to deliver more, often with tighter budgets, and every decision is under closer scrutiny. Travel is no exception, with a growing focus on how to optimise spend while maintaining efficiency.
This includes reducing unnecessary movement, consolidating journeys where possible and ensuring travel plans are aligned to production needs without adding complexity. It reinforces the value of having a more strategic approach to travel management that balances cost with delivery.
A more practical approach to sustainability
Sustainability remains high on the agenda, but the conversation is becoming more grounded in the realities of production.
Rather than broad ambition alone, there is a clear focus on what can be achieved in practice. This means balancing environmental impact with cost, time and operational demands.
There is increasing interest in solutions that can deliver measurable outcomes, whether through smarter routing, better planning or improved reporting. Supporting clients in making informed, realistic choices is becoming a key part of the role we play.
Continuing the conversation
Alongside these insights, MPTS provided a great opportunity to reconnect with existing contacts and start new conversations across the industry.
Thank you to everyone who took the time to speak with us during the event. We are looking forward to building on those discussions and continuing to support our clients as the industry evolves.
James Langton, our Director of Sales and Account Management said:
"MPTS is always a highlight in the calendar, and this year was no exception. It was great to reconnect with so many familiar faces and have some really valuable conversations with both existing contacts and new ones across the industry. There’s a real sense of momentum at the moment, with productions evolving quickly and teams looking for smarter, more joined-up ways to operate.
What stood out for me was the opportunity to demonstrate how Clarity Entertainment & Media can support that shift, whether that’s helping clients navigate increasingly complex production setups, manage budgets more effectively or make more informed, responsible choices around their travel. We’re in a strong position to add real value, and it was exciting to see how well that resonated with the people we spoke to."
