Going by rail travel offers you more daily services than air, with up to 61 trains departing every day compared to up to 29 domestic flights. What’s more, the Rail Delivery Group also identified that more trains arrive on time than planes. 88% of trains arrive within 15 minutes of schedule compared to 77% of planes. Rail travel also has fewer cancellations and fewer significant delays.
For business trips from London to Manchester, the Rail Delivery Group found journey time is faster by rail than by air, taking 154 minutes as opposed to 253 minutes. The difference in choice was also striking: up to 61 trains a day compared to just 7 flights.
