‍Etihad route expansions

Etihad expands its China network with five new routes and 28 additional weekly flights, strengthening connectivity between the UAE and China. In October we’ll operate services from Abu Dhabi to Shanghai Pudong and in March a further 4 routes in China will commence, Chengdu, Hangzhou, Shenzhen and Guangzhou. Combined with our existing daily Beijing Daxing service, this brings our total mainland China operation to 35 weekly flights across 6 destinations. All services will operate by Etihad’s 787-9 Dreamliner fleet, ensuring consistent, widebody, Business and Economy product across the expanded China network.

In addition to the China route expansion, Etihad is pleased to announce the introduction of double daily flights between Sydney and Abu Dhabi from 15 December 2026, operated by our state-of-the-art Airbus A350. The expanded schedule strengthens connectivity between Sydney and Abu Dhabi while providing greater flexibility and choice for guests travelling across Etihad’s growing global network. Morning and evening departures are timed to suit a range of travel preferences while optimising onward connections through Abu Dhabi to key destinations across the Middle East, Europe, Africa and Asia. With more than 5,000 seats available each week in each direction, the additional service further enhances access to Abu Dhabi and Etihad’s worldwide network.
