A boost for creativity

The UK government’s announcement of a £380 million investment into the creative industries isn’t just a headline. It’s a huge nod to the value of the people and businesses behind our film, TV, music, theatre, gaming and live events sectors.

After spending most of my career supporting entertainment and media travel, it’s genuinely exciting to see this level of investment in such a vibrant and vital sector. It also signals that the UK is serious about becoming the global hub for creativity – not just on screen and stage, but behind the scenes too; in the infrastructure, innovation and support services that make productions possible.

It’s the energy, pace, constant problem-solving and collaboration behind the scenes that make this industry so unique, which is why backing that ecosystem with meaningful support is such a positive step. That’s what I love most about what we do - meeting challenges quickly, building trust with customers and being the calm behind the curtain when everything else is full throttle. Seeing greater attention and support directed towards this industry can only help to provide it with a greater network of resource, so it can overcome obsticles and focus on what it does best.

Supporting the full ecosystem

The government’s Creative Industries Sector Vision sets out a plan to double the value of the UK’s creative economy by 2035, from £17 billion to £31 billion. This new £380 million package plays a big part in that. It includes dedicated funding to grow the screen and music sectors, support regional creative clusters and boost access to training, innovation and export support.

Importantly, this isn’t just focused on large-scale productions. The strategy recognises the whole creative ecosystem, from solo artists and start-ups to crews, freelancers and micro-businesses. For those of us working closely with the industry, this is music to our ears.

How we play our part

At Clarity, this is a world we know inside-out. Through our specialist Entertainment & Media division, we don’t offer a one-size-fits-all approach – because this sector doesn’t operate like that. Our service is shaped specifically for the people and projects we serve, aligning perfectly with the entertainment industry: fast, flexible, and built to handle the unpredictable nature of show business.

From complex logistics for international shoots to getting touring bands from venue to venue – and even 4am calls to geta crew to set on time – we work around the clock to keep projects moving. With sector-specific expertise and tech like ClarityGo, we make every project and journey easier and more efficient.

That’s why this investment feels so exciting. It reflects the same belief we’ve built our service around – that when the right support is in place, the whole industry moves better. And being part of that still gives me goosebumps

The road ahead

We’re proud to be part of that support system, because when travel runs smoothly, it frees creative teams to focus on what they do best – making brilliant things happen.

We’ll be watching with interest as The Creative Industries Sector Plan, and the planned funding is rolled out to clusters, training and growth packages. But we won’t just be watching, we’ll be working alongside our partners in entertainment and media to help them make the most of it.
